Abstract

Tugas akhir ini mendiskusikan pengembangan indoor navigation system di dalam perpustakaan Johannes Oentoro. Sistem ini dibangun untuk mengatasi keterbatasan sistem yang ada saat ini, yaitu pencarian buku menggunakan online catalog hanya membantu pembaca mengetahui informasi ketersediaan dan letak buku yang dicari. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Java pada platform Android dengan menggunakan metodologi pengembangan Rapid Application Development (RAD) dengan phase development. Dimulai dari perencanaan pembuatan sistem dan analisis kendala sistem saat ini dengan mengumpulkan bukti-bukti dan membuat user requirements. Pembuatan sistem menggunakan teknologi wi-fi yang digunakan untuk memperkirakan posisi pengguna, socket programming sebagai alat komunikasi antara client-server, dan MySQL untuk penyimpanan basis data. Testing program dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu secara offline dan online. Proses pengembangan dilakukan secara iteratif, dimana hasil pengujian sistem akan dievaluasi dan menjadi masukan untuk iterasi berikutnya. Sistem usulan dapat memfasilitasi pengguna untuk mencari buku lebih cepat karena fitur rute navigasi yang diberikan oleh aplikasi dan juga rute yang diberikan merupakan jarak terdekat yang harus ditempuh dari posis pengguna ke lokasi buku yang dicari. / This final project discussed about the development of indoor navigation system in Johannes Oentoro Library. The system is built to overcome the limitation of the current system, which is perform searching with online catalog will only help the reader to get an information of book availability and call number. The system is developed as an Android application using Java programming language and using rapid application development methodology with phased development. Starting with system planning and analyzing current system problems and gathering requirements from the problems to make user requirements. The system is built using three components, wi-fi technology to predict user’s position, socket programming as a communication tool between client-server, and MySQL for database storage. Application testing is done in two steps, offline and online testing. The results from previous testing will be evaluated and used as input for the next iterative stage. Navigation route will give a clear path for user in searching books and provide a faster way to reach the destination shelves, those will be the advantages when using the new system.
