Abstract

Lombok is an Island with a land area of 4738 km2 and a population of 2.4 million. It is the economically the most dynamic part of the west Nusa Tenggara province ( NTB ). Located only 50 kilometers to the East of Bali, Lombok has enjoyed the growth of its tourism sector, mainly concentrated along western coast, just to the North of Mataram, along the beaches of the Southern Coast, to the east and west of Kute. The number of visitors to the island has been growing at an average rate of 30% per year, and at the same time, the air traffic at Lombok has increased at an average 13% per year. In this fast moving context, the capacity and condition of the existing Airport at Selaparang are bound to become a bottleneck in the very near future as the increasing air traffic and consequently a limiting factor for the development of Tourism related investments on the island. Given the situation, it was urgently needed to provide Lombok with an adequate Airport which can accommodate the future traffic demand. Based on the previous study done by Directorate general of Air communication, Sengkol at central Lombok was deemed feasible for the new Airport site. The Passenger terminal building has been designed based on the following aspects: Air traffic forecast, Extensibility for further development of the Airport, Zoning aspect, Security Aspect, Flow analysis. The Architectural concept for the terminal building shall take into consideration these factors: 1. Clear separation between departing and arriving passenger flows 2. Comfort for the passenger 3. The terminal building will use new technologies which will be adapted with the traditional Lombok character in the shape of the roof and interior design elements. The Structural concept is based on the architectural design and solves some architectural constrain in term of shape, appearance and details. Also it depends on functional concept which determines the span requirement. Reinforced concrete frames with steel truss structures are chosen for passenger terminal building. / Pulau Lombok dengan luas area 4738 km2 dan jumlah penduduk 2.4juta . Merupakan bagian dari provinsi Nusa Tenggara barat yang paling dinamis. Pulau Lombok yang berlokasi hanya 50 km dari Pulau Bali, dimana Pariwisata merupakan salah satu sektor yang berkembang pesat, kegiatan ini terkonsentrasi pada pantai sebelah barat hingga kearah utara Mataram , dan pantai sebelah selatan. Jumlah Wisatawan P.Lombok dari tahun ke tahun meningkat dengan rata-rata 30 % tahun 2 . Disamping itu arus lalu lintas udara di Lombok juga meningkat 13 % per tahun.3 Peningkatan jumlah wisatawan serta arus penumpang lalulintas udara dalam waktu dekat akan mengakibatkan Bandar udara Selaparang menjadi penuh. Keadaan ini akan menjadi factor penghambat perkembangan kepariwisataan yang selanjutnya terkait dengan tingkat investasi di Pulau Lombok. Dalam situasi tersebut diatas, dirasakan perlu untuk merencanakan Bandar Udara dengan fasilitas yang memadai di P. Lombok. Bandar udara tersebut diharapkan dapat menampung peningkatan jumlah penumpang serta pergerakan pesawat udara dimasa mendatang . Berdasarkan study yang dibuat Direktorat jenderal Perhubungan udara, Sengkol di Lombok Tengah merupakan area yang layak untuk pembangunan Bandar udara baru. Bangunan terminal penumpang di design berdasarkan beberapa aspek sebagai berikut : Peramalan/ perkiraan lalu lintas udara, kemungkinan Perluasan untuk pengembangan airport dimasa mendatang, aspek Zoning, aspek keamanan, serta analysa alur barang dan penumpang. Konsep arsitektur untuk Terminal penumpang akan mempertimbangkan faktor-faktor sebagai berikut: 1. Pemisahan yang jelas antara alur penumpang yang datang dan yang berangkat. 2. Penggunaan teknologi baru yang diadaptasikan dengan karakter tradisional arsitektur Lombok yaitu pada bentuk atap bangunan serta penggunaan elemen-elemen interior Lombok. 3. Kenyamanan Penumpang. Konsep struktur yang digunakan didasarkan pada design arsitektural dimana harus dapat memenuhi batasan-batasan arsitektur antara lain bentuk, tampilan yang ingin dicapai, juga tergantung pada konsep fungsional untuk memenuhi bentang bangunan yang diperlukan. Selanjutnya untuk terminal penumpang akan digunakan struktur Beton bertulang dengan kerangka baja.
