Abstract
Saat ini banyak kegiatan yang harus dilakukan dari rumah untuk menekan angka penyebaran COVID-19, seperti belajar dari rumah. Karena proses komunikasi interpersonal antar guru dan siswa menjadi lebih sulit pada proses belajar daring untuk itu guru harus dapat lebih kreatif dan dituntut untuk bisa berkomunikasi secara aktif agar dapat menarik perhatian siswa. Guru harus dapat menarik perhatian siswa melalui manajemen kesan yang baik. Melihat fenomena belajar daring yang terjadi di seluruh Indonesia dan juga berbagai tantangan dalam proses belajar mengajar daring terutama tantangan dalam interaksi interpersonal antara guru dan murid maka peneliti tertarik untuk mengangkat topik mengenai proses komunikasi interpersonal guru dan murid selama proses belajar daring.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus di SMA Dwiwarna Islamic Boarding School Bogor. Peneliti mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara mendalam dan juga observasi terhadap satu narasumber kunci dan empat narasumber. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data peneliti menemukan bahwa strategi manajemen kesan guru yang digunakan dalam menciptakan kesan proses belajar yang menyenangkan dapat dilakukan dengan serius tapi santai terdapat empat yaitu manajemen kesan yaitu untuk menjadi guru yang disukai, menjadi guru yang kredibel, menjadi guru yang dapat mempengaruhi murid, dan menjadi guru yang memiliki kesan positif. Keempat strategi yang dijalankan ketiga narasumber sesuai dengan empat dari tujuh strategi manajemen kesan dari DeVito (2013). /Currently a lot of activity must be done from home to reduce the number of the spread of COVID-19, like online learning. Since the process of interpersonal communication between teachers and students becomes ever more difficult on the online learning process. The teacher must be able to be more creative and are required to communicate actively in order to attract the attention of students.Teachers have to draw attention students via a good impression management. Seeing the online learning that occurs across all of Indonesia and also the challenges in the teaching and learning process online especially the challenge in interpersonal interactions between teachers and students then the researcher interested in the subject of interpersonal communication process.
Researcher used a qualitative approach with the case study in Dwiwarna Islamic boarding school Bogor. Researchers collected data through in-depth interviews and observations on a key informant and four informant. Based on the data analysis researchers found that the impression that want to be formed by the online learning process is that online learning process is fun but still serious. The strategy used in create this impression there are four impressions management strategy: to become teachers who favored, become credible teachers, become a teacher that can influence students, and a teacher who had positive image. The fourth strategy used in accordance with four of seven impression management strategies by DeVito ( 2013 ).
