Abstract
Motivation is very required by students in learning. Especially during the national examination, if students are unable to study there might be a failure. Motivation is useful to energize the students in learning so that they can reach their goals. Self-efficacy which is a belief the students have due to difficult tasks completing is also required as well, if not, the motivation will be lacked. Therefore, both learning motivation and self-efficacy are required by students to reach a satisfying result. This research is presented to see how big the impact of self-efficacy toward motivation to learn of the high school students in DKI Jakarta. The theory being used in this research is the self-efficacy theory of Bandura and the learning motivation theory of McClelland. This research is using quantitative approach with non-experimental research design. The research instrument is using questionnaire, with the sampling technique is simple random sampling. The amount of the samples is 270 high school students in DKI Jakarta. The result of this research is that there is a significant impact with significance value 0.000 (p < 0.005). The impact’s amount of self-efficacy toward learning motivation of high school students is R = 0.807. The impact’s percentage is 80.7%. The researcher hopes that from the result of the research, the schools are able to increase their students’ learning motivation and self-efficacy as well so that they have less fear and will not fail in completing tasks.
