Abstract

Mixed-use building which generally take large amounts of land, by combining some of the functions that differ from each other in the region. Making this region has close ties to the user in performing the movements and activities that take place inside and outside the building. Thus it requires a clear and easy access to reach the different activities. The main issues to be discussed in this study is about the relationship accessibility and space transitions in response to some of the meetings that occur on a mixed-use building. The meeting is a user-oriented design of walkers ranging from physical accessibility while towards mixed-use building with the surrounding environment and the area continued with the accessibility of mall visitors can separate the apartment dwellers. This study is expected to issue a design alternatives concerning the relationship pedestrians current user accessibility as well as accessibility to the building that can restrict the visitors with a safe apartment dwellers. The method used in this study will be done by examining some books and journals about the design of multifunctional building such as Mixed-use Development in Theory and Practice, Building Type Basic For Retail And Mixed Use Facilities, explaning Mixed-use Developments: A Critical Realist's Perspective, and so forth. In addition to the literature study, precedent studies will also be used to help and determine the design of the apartments and a mall. Based on the results of existing studies, assuming that is obtained is to provide a means of access to public spaces such as parks and public plazas as unifier of the building with the surrounding environment and to facilitate interaction between visitors and residents in multifunctional buildings. As well as the entry and exit are separate visitors to the occupants.
