Abstract
Privacy is a thing or aspect which is important in residential areas. In the area of mixed-use condominium and mall-based, privacy will become a thing considered in the design. This is because the mixed-use area to accommodate several different activities within it, each activity are complementary and closely linked and interact. As a result of merging two different functions are waning boundaries between public space and private space for the space program that overlap. The main issue to be discussed in this study is about how the right strategy in response to privacy aspects both for the residents (private) or visitor (public) in a mixed-use neighborhood. Privacy aspects in question is within the parameters of access, visual, and typology of residential units that will be discussed systematically in subsequent chapters. The method applied in this research is the study of literature about the design of mixed-use, studies on aspects of the privacy of the journal reference that discusses the theory of the privacy with regard to the relationship between the space in the sphere of architecture, and studies precedent that comes from within and abroad aim to look for the right strategy to be applied in the design of this mixed-use concept. Based on existing research results, conclusions to be drawn: first, zoning and access configuration that clearly distinguishes between the public zone and a private zone can be a solution in resolving the fading boundaries between public and private functions. Second, the typology of residential units influential in the privacy aspect. Third, the application of the facade of the building can be a visual filter and aesthetics.
