Abstract
Tanah bermasalah seperti tanah lempung ekspansif sering kali dijumpai di Indonesia. Sifat tanah lempung ekspansif yang memiliki potensi kembang susut yang tinggi menyebabkan terjadinya kerusakan dalam bidang konstruksi. Terdapat beberapa metode yang bisa dilakukan untuk mengatasi kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh tanah lempung ekspansif, salah satunya dengan metode biogrouting. Metode biogrouting pada penelitian ini menggunakan bakteri Bacillus subtilis dan Bacillus amyloliquefaciens yang ditumbuh kembangkan pada medium kultur B4. Mengingat tingginya jumlah konsumsi kerang di Indonesia, sehingga penelitian ini memanfaatkan pengolahan limbah cangkang kerang tersebut sebagai sumber kalsium bagi pertumbuhan bakteri dalam medium kultur B4./
Problematic soil like expansive clay is often found in Indonesia. Properties of expansive clay soil have high growth potential that cause damage in the construction field. There are several methods that can be done to overcome the damage caused by expansive clay soil. One of them is biogrouting method. This method uses Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens bacteria that grown in B4 culture medium. Given the high amount of shellfish consumption in Indonesia, the purpose of this study is to utilize the processing of shell waste as a source of calcium for bacterial growth in the B4 culture medium.
