Abstract
The massacres in Rwanda is known as the Rwandan genocide. The massacre in Rwanda was a massacre of 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus were carried out by a group of Hutu extremists that occurred in 1994. Through UN Security Council resolution 872, established UNAMIR (United Nations Mission For RwandaAssisance ) on October 5, 1993. The UN commissioned to seek peace process agreed by each party, and supports efforts to improve security and to encourage a sense of trust in order to achieve long-term peace settlement by the parties to the dispute in Rwanda The problem formulated in this paper to examine the influence of the UN peacekeeping operation in Rwanda in conflict resolution in the country. Explanation formulation of the problem using the approach of liberalism, conflict, conflict resolution, and international mediation . In this paper formulated based on the timing, the issues raised and the UN steps in solving the case of humanity in Rwanda. UN Peacekeeping Operation in Rwanda can relevanced with liberalism which believes that humans can lead to conflict if the government interventions that destroy the existing order. On the other hand, liberalism believe that man is basically good and knowing the norms, these factors are able to make humans think rationally in avoiding war and prefer to create peace. UN Peace Operations constrained by several factors such as non resources, facilities, and response actions of the international community, the lack of operational costs, as well as internal support. These things lead role in implementing the United Nations Peace Operations in Rwanda no significant effect on stability in Rwanda.
