Abstract

In today global development. The boundaries between states more likely to vanish. With the current growth of globalism, world tend to be more connected, especially, in economic sector. United States is pioneer of free market system in global economic, the system that made the international trade more easily than before. With the United States entered the crisis, impact to global economic would relatively worse. It’s because United States is one of leading economies in the world. Singapore, a state that depends on export for their economic development, is one example of nations that got affected by this crisis. The Method that used in this crisis is a qualitative with secondary data source. The data was collected by literature studied, for example books, journals or websites. This thesis didn’t used an interview. It’s because the limitation of time in this research This research tried to explain how the financial crisis blew, with explanation of the background of this crisis, and also reveal actors and factors that created it. Moreover, this research also try to find how comprehensive the economy of United States and Singapore got affected, with the help of economic indicators. Result of this research conclude that deregulation in financial market in United States have generated this crisis, which their financial market regulator didn’t do anything and let high risk derivative to grown and caused property market failure. This financial crisis is essential because of the global impact by this crisis, situation that would happened because of global economy tend to be more interconnected. Singapore itself got the effected by this crisis, because their export orientation and United States was one of their biggest market.
