Abstract

Pada masa emerging adulthood individu mempunyai kesempatan yang sangat besar untuk melakukan eksplorasi diri pada area cinta, pekerjaan, dan pandangan hidup. Eksplorasi cinta tahapan emerging adulthood eksplorasi cinta menjadi lebih intim dan serius. Tidak ada hubungan yang terlepas dari masalah termasuk hubungan romantis. Pasangan umumnya akan mengalami konflik dan dari konflik tersebut dapat dampat berdampak positif ataupun negatif terhadap hubungan. Bagaimana hasilnya berkaitan dengan bagaimana pasangan menghadapi konflik. Beberapa conflict strategy yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan konflik dalam hubungan romantis adalah compromise, avoidance, interactional reactivity, separation, domination, dan submission. Bagaimana pasangan menangani permasalahan dalam hubungan merupakan salah satu prediktor yang kuat dan konsisten dari kepuasan hubungan romantis. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 118 partisipan berusia 18-25 tahun yang sedang menjalin hubungan romantis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dan kuesioner RPCS juga RAS untuk mengukur kedua variabel. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan positif antara compromise conflict strategy dan kepuasan hubungan romantis (r=.489, p=.000; p<.01), terdapat juga hubungan signifikan negatif antara interactional reactivity conflict strategy dan kepuasan hubungan romantis (r=-.399, p=.000; p<.01). Lalu hasil menunjukan tidak ada korelasi signifikan antara avoidance, separation, domination, submission. / Emerging adulthood is the period of life that offers the most opportunity for identity exploration in the areas of love, work, and worldviews. In emerging adulthood, explorations in love become more intimate and serious. There’s no relationship that inevitable from conflict including romantic relationship. Usually couples will face conflict and the conflict can bring positive or negative impact to the relationship. The outcome based on how they handle the conflict. Some of conflict strategies that people use to handle conflict in romantic relationship are compromise, avoidance, interactional reactivity, separation, domination, and submission. How couples handle conflict is one of the strongest and most consistent predictors of relationship satisfaction in romantic partners. The research based on 118 participants on between the age of 18 to 25 who were in romantic relationship. RPCS and RAS were used to measure all variables. The result revealed that there’s significant positive correlation between compromise conflict strategy romantic relationship satisfaction (r=.489, p=.000; p<.01), and there’s significant negative correlation between interactional reactivity conflict strategy and romantic relationship satisfaction (r=-.399, p=.000; p<.01). Additionally there’s no significant correlation between avoidance, separation, domination, submission conflict strategy and romantic relationship satisfaction.
