Abstract

Strut-and-tie model adalah sebuah metoda yang secara khusus dikembangkan untuk menghitung dan mendesain sebuah balok dengan daerah terganggu atau yang kerap kali kita kenal dengan istilah discontinuity regions (D-regions) yang memiliki bentuk berbeda dari balok pada umumnya dimana gaya yang mengalir pada balok tersebut tidak dapat diuraikan sesuai hypothesa Bernoulli. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode strut-and-tie model untuk memodelkan bagian tarik dan tekan pada tiga balok yang berbeda bentuk dan model. Berdasarkan gaya-gaya yang terjadi, dilakukan perencanaan balok. Pada bagian batang tarik ditempatkan carbon fibre atau tulangan baja yang dimensinya sesuai dengan gaya yang terjadi. Dari kedua macam balok dengan carbon fibre dan tulangan baja diuji sampai runtuh, dan dilakukan pengamatan untuk membedakan performa dari masing-masing balok. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwa keruntuhan yang terjadi pada balok dengan carbon fibre bersifat tiba-tiba, sedangkan untuk balok dengan tulangan baja bersifat daktail./ Strut-and-tie models is an especially valuable tool for designing discontinuity regions (D-regions) of structures with irregular geometry where the flow of forces are not same with Bernoulli’s hypothesis. This research using the struts-and-tie model method to modeled the tension and compression region of the three different shape and models. Based on forces which occurred, we design beams. Which the tension beams are restrained by carbon fibre or steel bars with dimension that according to the forces. Both beams with carbon fibre and steel bars were tested until it failed, so we watched the difference performance by each type of beams. Test result showed the characteristics failure of beams, beams with carbon fibre had characteristic of sudden failure and beams with steel bars had characteristic of ductile failure.
