Abstract

Beton geopolimer merupakan jawaban dari kebutuhan konstruksi yang lebih ramah lingkungan, karena beton geopolimer ini memanfaatkan limbah sisa pembakaran batu bara yang sering disebut sebagai abu terbang (fly ash) yang masuk dalam kategori limbah B3. Beton geopolimer sendiri sudah cukup berkembang di Indonesia, tetapi masih banyak kendala yang dihadapi dari konsentrasi larutan aktivator hingga biaya produksi yang cukup tinggi bila dibandingkan dengan beton konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan pengembangan dari penelitian beton geopolimer yang berbahan dasar fly ash dari PLTU Suralaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari pengaruh dari konsentrasi larutan aktivator terhadap kekuatan beton geopolimer dan bagaimana cara memproduksi beton geopolimer yang lebih ekonomis dengan penggunaan NaOH teknis sebagai pengganti NaOH analisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa NaOH teknis mampu untuk menggantikan NaOH analisis sebagai campuran pada larutan aktivator. Molaritas NaOH yang lebih tinggi menghasilkan kekuatan yang lebih tinggi, tetapi dapat menurunkan workability dari beton geopolimer. Sedangkan untuk konsentrasi Na2SiO3 pada larutan aktivator menunjukkan bila semakin tinggi konsentrasinya kekuatan yang didapatkan akan semakin tinggi tetapi dapat juga menurunkan workability dari beton yang dihasilkan. / Geopolymer Concrete is the answer for a more eco-friendly construction needs, because geopolymer concrete takes advantage of coal combustion residue named fly ash that is included as hazardous waste. Geopolymer concrete is quite developed in Indonesia, but there are still many obstacles such as the activator concentrate solution and a higher production cost compared to conventional concrete production. This research is developed from the research of geopolymer concrete fly ash based on Suralaya power plant. This research aims to find the effects of activator concentrate to concrete strength and how to produce more economical geopolymer concrete using technical NaOH to replace analysis NaOH. The result from this research shows that technical NaOH can be used to replace analysis NaOH as the basic ingredient of the activator solution. Higher molarity of NaOH produces higher strength, but can reduce the workability of geopolymer concrete. As for the concentration of Na2SiO3 in the activator solution, higher concentration will produce higher strength but it can also decrease the workability of the concrete produced.
