Abstract

Anxiety can be experienced by anyone including college student. Anxiety is a condition or emotion state that people feel temporary and in a while that gave an alert when there is a threat that motivates people to be ready of challenges. Anxiety can be overcome by many things and it isrelevant to correlate anxiety with religious aspects that have the potential of psychological coping in an individual. Religiosity is a construct that measure the level interest of someone on their religion. This research aim to see the impact of religiosity to anxiety in Pelita Harapan University college student using The Four Basic Dimensions of Religiousness Scale measuring instrument by Saroglou for religiosity and state anxiety using Spielberger State Anxiety Inventory-5 (STAI-5) that is made by Zsido, Teleki, Csokasi, Rozsa, and Bandi. The total subject for this research is 126 christian college student that study in Pelita Harapan University. The result of this research is there is a significant impact of religiosity in college student’s anxiety (F(1,124) = 5.932, p < .016) with R² = .046). Another result of this research is also discussed. / Kecemasan dapat dialami oleh siapa saja termasuk oleh mahasiswa. Kecemasan adalah sebuah kondisi atau keadaan emosi pada manusia yang sementara dan sekilas serta memberi waspada ketika ada sebuah ancaman sehingga memotivasi manusia untuk bersiap akan tantangan. Kecemasan dapat diatasi dengan berbagai hal dan relevan jika kecemasan dihubungkan dengan aspek religius yang memiliki potensi pada cara coping psikologis seorang individu. Religiositas adalah sebuah konstruk untuk mengukur tingkat ketertarikan seseorang pada agamanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh religiositas terhadap kecemasan mahasiswa Universitas Pelita Harapan dengan menggunakan alat ukur The Four Basic Dimensions of Religiousness Scale oleh Saroglou untuk religiositas dan state anxiety pada alat ukur Spielberger State Anxiety Inventory-5 (STAI-5) yang dibuat oleh Zsido, Teleki, Csokasi, Rozsa, dan Bandi. Subjek penelitian adalah 126 mahasiswa beragama Kristen yang berkuliah di Universitas Pelita Harapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari religiositas pada kecemasan mahasiswa (F(1,124) = 5.932, p < .016) dengan R² = .046). Penemuan hasil penelitian yang lain juga didiskusikan.
