Abstract

The high influence of social media in leading public opinion makes the ideology of political parties no longer became force that can attract voters. Social media has now become a vehicle of war in the political constellation. Ahok as a political actor truly understands the role of social media by constantly recording and uploading videos of various activities in social media YouTube. This research raises a video on YouTube entitled “Pidato Dahsyat Basuki TP (Ahok) di Depan Pegawai Baru PKWT Dishubtrans DKI Jakarta” as the object of this research. Using Qualitative Research Method and Dramaturgy Study Analysis by Erving Goffman as a Research Approach, the researchers want to reveal the strategy of self – presentation in the context of Ahok's political communication through the video. The results of the study found that there are three dominant impression management of Ahok’s speech regarding to this research, namely selfconstruction, exemplification and intimidation. Furthermore, the political communication strategy that developed by Ahok in his speech in this video is a Koersif Strategy, which is to give fear to the audience as well as moral judgment for State officials, especially those who commit fraud and corruption. / Tingginya pengaruh media sosial dalam menggiring opini publik membuat ideologi partai politik tidak lagi menjadi sesuatu kekuatan yang mampu menarik pemilih. Media sosial kini sudah menjadi kendaraan perang dalam konstelasi politik. Ahok sebagai aktor politik memahami benar peran media sosial ini dengan senantiasa merekam dan mengunggah video berbagai kegiatannya di media sosial YouTube. Penelitian ini mengangkat sebuah video di YouTube berjudul “Pidato Dahsyat Basuki TP (Ahok) di Depan Pegawai Baru PKWT Dishubtrans DKI Jakarta” sebagai objek penelitian. Menggunakan metode Penelitian Kualitatif, dengan pendekatan Analisis Studi Dramaturgi Erving Goffman, peneliti hendak mengungkap strategi presentasi diri dalam konteks komunikasi politik Ahok melalui video tersebut. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa terdapat tiga manajemen impresi yang dominan dalam pidato Ahok di penelitian ini, yaitu self construction, exemplification dan intimidation. Selanjutnya strategi komunikasi politik yang dibangun oleh Ahok dalam pidatonya di video ini merupakan Strategi Koersif untuk memberikan rasa takut kepada para audiens sekaligus moral judgement bagi para pejabat Negara, terutama yang melakukan kecurangan dan korupsi.
