Abstract

Collective identity upon Viking Persib Club supporters based on high sense of pride derived from their native city and the affection of football sport. These pride and affection to Persib becoming flesh and blood to their collective identity. Implication of an immense sense of pride to Persib inflicting a high loyal attitude as represented by the Viking Persib Club. This research profanely qualitative approach through ethnographic research method of Viking Persib Club. Research data solicitation implemented with primary data in which interview results and direct observation in line with secondary data constitute literature study and documentation. Interviews conducted to five informants namely General Chairman of Viking Persib Club, General Secretary of Viking Persib Club, General Chairman of Viking Girls, Bandung rap singer as well as member of Viking and lastly Persib Bandung own team captain. Research result tht Viking Persib Club existence aside from being valuable assests to the city of Bandung in terms football, it also harnessed by political practitioners as an instruments to regional official position in the government. Social media also facilitating public to uncover Viking Persib Club activities in various aspects. / Identitas kolektif pada suporter Viking Persib Club didasari oleh rasa kebanggan yang tinggi akan kota kelahiran dan rasa cinta terhadap sepak bola. Rasa cinta dan bangga terhadap Persib inilah yang telah mendarah daging dan membuat mereka bangga dengan identitas kolektifnya. Dampak dari rasa bangga yang besar terhadap Persib menimbulkan sikap loyalitas yang sangat tinggi yang ditunjukkan oleh Viking Persib Club. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian etnografi Viking Persib Club. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan data primer, yaitu hasil wawancara dan observasi langsung, serta data sekunder berupa studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada lima informan yaitu Ketua Umum Viking Persib Club, Sekertaris Umum Viking Persib Club, Ketua Umum Viking Girls, rapper Bandung sekaligus anggota Viking dan Captain Persib Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan Viking Persib Club selain sebagi salah satu aset berharga kota Bandung dalam hal Sepak bola, keberadaan Viking pun juga dimanfaatkan oleh para pelaku politik sebagai alat kendraan menuju kursi kepemimpinan daerah. Dan faktor mediapun juga membuka ruang bagi khalayak untuk mengetahui sepak terjang Viking Persib Club dalam berbagai hal.
