Abstract

There are several research that stated about the number of single people in Indonesia is increased, this is strengthened by the appearance of website and applications with online dating theme also with the high number of users. But with the rise of negative cases resulting from online dating, on the other hand there are also people who using ta'aruf as a media to get a partner. What distinguishes between ta'aruf and the others is because of the presence of mediators who oversee and monitor the introduction process during the ta'aruf process. This research was conducted on Komunitas Ta’aruf Membangun Umat (KTMU) as one of ta'aruf community. This study aims to find out how is the communication pattern in ta’aruf process, especially inside the community of ta’aruf. This study used a qualitative approach with phenomenology research methods, as well as Social Action Theory and Symbolic Interactionism Theory. The results showed that the purpose of ta'aruf process is to build a sakinah, mawaddah, warahmah marriage, and done based on religious values. And the way of thinking with Islam way, is affecting the communication pattern in ta’aruf process in ta’aruf community. / Terdapat beberapa penelitian yang menyatakan adanya tren kenaikan angka jumlah lajang yang ada di Indonesia, hal ini semakin diperkuat dengan kemunculan serta tingginya tingkat pengguna website dan aplikasi yang bertemakan kencan online. Namun dengan maraknya kasus negatif akibat dari kencan online tersebut, di lain pihak ada pula yang menggunakan media ta’aruf sebagai jalan untuk mendapatkan pasangan. Yang membedakan antara ta’aruf dengan cara lainnya adalah karena keberadaan pihak mediator yang mengawasi dan memantau jalannya proses perkenalan dengan ta’aruf. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Komunitas Ta’aruf Membangun Umat (KTMU) sebagai salah satu komunitas yang menjalankan praktik ta’aruf. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaima pola komunikasi dalam proses ta’aruf, terutama di dalam suatu komunitas KTMU. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian fenomenologi, serta Teori Tindakan Sosial dan Teori Interaksionisme Simbolik sebagai pisau analisanya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tujuan dari ta’aruf adalah membangun pernikahan yang sakinah, mawaddah, warahmah, dilakukan berlandaskan nilai agama. Dan pola pikir secara agama islam yang mempengaruhi pola komunikasi dalam proses ta’aruf pada komunitas KTMU.
