Abstract

South Korea makes the media content as a way to promote their culture to people and other countries in the world. The entertainment industries of South Korea know capture the market share that found consumers the most are women. Then to further draw the attention of the audience in each show program TV, drama, movies, video clips, and ads will be a lot of encountered female figure depicted flawless, bodied proportioned, fair-skinned and long-haired which look beautiful, and ideal in the eyes of men. It's then that raises the action and behavior that is different from the environment to women that looks do not fit in that category. As seen in the movie 200 Pounds Beauty. This research uses the paradigm of critical with the qualitative descriptive approach, as well as using research methods analysis of the semiology of Roland Barthes's model. Data collection the study was conducted with primary data, namely non-participant observation, and secondary data from literature study and documentation. Based on the research conducted found the presence of a shift action and a different treatment is visible through the language and words because of factors change the physical appearance of the main character girls of women with physical which is not attractive because of her body fat (before plastic surgery) to be a female that has a physical pull, a slim body, the way that beautiful little face and the other (after plastic surgery). / Korea selatan menjadikan konten media sebagai salah satu cara untuk mempromosikan kebudayaan kepada masyarakatnya dan negara-negara lain di dunia. Industri hiburan Korea Selatan jeli menangkap pangsa pasar yang mendapati konsumen terbanyak adalah perempuan. Maka untuk lebih menarik perhatian penontonnya dalam setiap tayangan program tv, drama, film, video klip, dan iklan akan banyak ditemui sosok perempuan yang digambarkan berparas ayu, bertubuh proporsional, berkulit putih dan berambut panjang yang terlihat cantik, dan ideal dimata pria. Hal itulah kemudian yang memunculkan adanya tindakan dan perilaku yang berbeda dari lingkungan sekitar kepada perempuan yang tampilannya tidak masuk dalam kategori tersebut. Seperti yang tergambar dalam film 200 Pounds Beauty. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma kritis dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, serta menggunakan metode penelitian analisis semiologi model Roland Barthes. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan data primer, yaitu observasi non-partisipan, serta data sekunder berupa studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan ditemukan adanya pergeseran tindakan dan perlakuan yang berbeda terlihat lewat bahasa dan kata-kata karena faktor perubahan tampilan fisik tokoh utama perempuan dari perempuan dengan fisik yang tidak menarik karena tubuhnya yang gemuk (sebelum operasi plastik) menjadi perempuan yang memiliki fisik menarik, bertubuh langsing, rupa yang cantik dengan wajah mungil dan lainnya (setelah operasi plastik).
