Abstract
Internet technology is growing rapidly in recent years. The presence of new media brings people to new thoughts, values and ways of life. Social media is present as a new space for users to create a self-image. In particular, for young women, social media has an effect on the demand for self-impression. Gogirl! as a magazine that targets young women to criticize the effects of using social media. Critics appear in rubrics that raise the negative impact of using social media. In particular, this research was conducted to analyze the resistance to the use of social media by young women in Gogirl! Magazine. In the critical paradigm, this qualitative research uses the Sara Mills model discourse analysis method. Data collection is done by direct observation on the North Gogirl !. The researcher also conducted an interview with the managing editor of Gogirl! as a triangulation method. the results of this study indicate that dominant women are placed in a strategic position to lead and lead the reader's view. So, in the end it brought researchers to some findings that led to Gogirl's resistance! the use of social media by teenage girls is the criticism of Gogirl! towards the effects of the use of social media by young women, the emergence of the character of modern identity, and the woman's empowerment side that focuses on the internal self of women. / Teknologi internet bertumbuh dengan pesatnya dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Adanya media baru membawa masyarakat pada pemikiran, nilai-nilai dan cara hidup yang baru. Media sosial hadir sebagai ruang baru kepada penggunanya untuk menciptakan gambaran diri. Khususnya, bagi remaja perempuan, media sosial berpengaruh terhadap tuntutan terbentuknya impresi diri. Gogirl! sebagai majalah yang menyasar remaja perempuan mengkritisi efek dari penggunaan media sosial tersebut. Kritik muncul dalam rubrik yang mengangkat dampak negatif penggunaan media sosial. Secara khusus, penelitaian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisa sikap resistensi terhadap penggunaan media sosial oleh remaja perempuan pada majalah Gogirl!. Dalam paradigma kritis, penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan metode analisis wacana model Sara Mills. Pengumpulan data dilakukandengan observasi langsung padarubrik Gogirl!. Peneliti juga melakukan wawancara dengan managing editor Gogirl! sebagai metode triangulasi. hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dominan ditempatkan dalam posisi strategis untuk mengarah dan menggiring pandangan pembaca. Sehingga, pada akhirnya membawa peneliti pada beberapa temuan yang mengarah kepada sikap resistensi Gogirl! terhadap penggunaan media sosial oleh remaja perempuan yaitu adanya kritik Gogirl! terhadap efek penggunaan media sosial oleh remaja perempuan, munculnya karakter identitas modern, dan sisi woman empowerement yang terfokus pada internal diri perempuan.
