The COVID-19 pandemic that has occurred massively throughout the world has greatly affected all aspects, one of which is activities in professional football in Indonesia. This has had a huge impact on every professional football club affected by COVID-19. Various parties have experienced financial problems so that erratic schedule changes have caused disability rather than the protection of professional football player contracts in Indonesia. FIFA as the governing body for football around the world has the responsibility to provide proper guidelines and regulations to members of football associations around the world to deal with problems especially during the COVID-19 pandemic regarding the protection of football player contracts. FIFA also issued regulations that apply to clubs and players during the pandemic, namely FIFA Circular 1714 which aims to protect the rights and obligations of every club and football player. In Indonesia itself, PSSI has issued Decree numbers SKEP / 48 / III / 2020 and SKEP / 53 / VI / 2020, but the Decree is deemed not to provide a sense of fairness and violates the principle of freedom of contract for clubs and players. The purpose of this paper is to examine how the laws and regulations in Indonesia and FIFA provide contract protection for professional football players and elaborate on how to implement the implementation of the work contract agreement between football players and club management TIRA Persikabo during the COVID-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia. APPI as representing professional soccer players in Indonesia is very disappointed with the existence of a decree issued by PSSI unilaterally because it is very detrimental and does not protect the rights of football players and injures the freedom of contract between football clubs and players.
