A rapid development in technology has blessed society with great benefit in communication activity. The birth of new phenomenon emerged, presenting a new form of communication in everyday society. The new form of communication is known as Internet Meme, tangible visual entertainment in the form of still images, animation or even that generally carry a message in funny ways to its audience. Internet meme is part of todays culture in which is influence spread widely through online or virtual world. Unfortunately, today most people still do not realize that the meme is not only serves for entertainment. Meme also have an important role in politival sphere. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a research study, especially to determine the meaning of political satire contained in the political Internet meme which has been widely circulated on social media. This study used a qualitative approach combined which a semiotic analysis as a research method. The research data collection is conducted through series of primary data collection, which consist of a collection of Internet meme about political issues that is circulated in Indonesia and interview with some reputable source. This research study also reinforce with secondary data which obtained through months of library research and documentation. Furthermore, the interview was conducted to some d social observers, senior political journalist and adolescent age 17 years. The result showed the meaning of satire contained in Indonesian political meme has become a strongest medium for public expression, as a means of criticsm or oppositionn, to be the right kind of tool for public debate or discussion, and even more it has become as one of powerful tool to discredit some political opponents. / Komunikasi saat ini semakin dimudahkan dengan adanya kemajuan teknologi. Seiring hal ini, sebuah fenomena konumikasi baru juga mucul, yaitu Internet meme, yaitu hiburan visual yang berwujud gambar diam, animasi atau bahkan video, yang umumnya untuk memberi kesan lucu kepada penikmatnya. Internet meme adalah bagian dari budaya dimana pengaruhnya meluas melalui transmisi secara online atau dunia maya. Namun, hingga kini masih banyak yang belum menyadari bahwa meme sebenarnya bukanlah sebagai sarana hiburan semata. Meme juga memiliki peran penting dalam ranah politik. Untuk itulah, diperlukan penelitian untuk mengetahui bagaimana makna satir politik dalam Internet meme politik yang selama ini beredar di media sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian analisis semiotik. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan data primer, yaitu Internet meme politik yang beredar di Indonesia, wawancara, serta data sekunder berupa studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan kepada pengamat sosial, wartawan senior bidang politik, serta remaja usia 17 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna satir dalam meme politik di Indonesia adalah sebagai alat ekspresi publik, sebagai alat kritik atau perlawanan aras bawah, sebagai alat menimbulkan kesadaran politik, sebagai alat partisipasi politik, sebagai alat debat atau diskusi publik dan sebagai alat mendiskreditkan lawan.
