Abstract

With many new technological advances, the needs for information in companies are indeed increased. For this needs, it will affect some of area such as Internet. Furthermore the company also have to concern about security in networking by using internet. This issue also occurs in Universitas Pelita Harapan Pelita Harapan which needs a tool to computerize its current flow process for authentication for using Internet services at campus. The reason behind the development of this tool is to solve the problems faced with the current system which are the difficulties in monitoring Internet activities and network security problems. One of the solution for the above problems is Captive portal. Captive portal is a web based application which is designed to accommodate the flow process of user authentication. It has many features such as authentication processing, online user and organization maintenance, as well as automatic report generation. finally, the system has managed to overcome the monitoring and reporting difficulties as well as offers many advantages such as faster,secure and more accurate reporting, and automatic user atuhentication. Furthermore, the system as a whole has increased the performance networking activities and prevent Internet crimes from the current system.
