Network Management System (NMS) is very essential in order to maintain the existing network. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is one of many protocols used for Network Management System, and it is the most well known protocol. SNMP protocol has vulnerabilities, especially SNMP version 1, but it is the best in accordance with simplicity. Running SNMP functions is not easy, but it can be simplified by designing an interface program, therefore a simple network management application is built using Visual Basic .NET 2005 software. In addition, the user interface has been created using Indonesian language to help Indonesian users, and a help menu is included to help users to understand the functions exist in the program. All activities and information gathered are recorded in a simple file for management purposes. The network management application designed has achieved the goal of this final assignment successfully to help users run the SNMP command, except for Trap command it is still not the real Trap sent but only for learning purpose. Since there are some limitations in SNMP version 1, for future development it can be considered to add security issue for SNMP or use some other protocols for Network Management System.
