Abstract
A robot that is able to mimic a specific human movement may be used in various work fields, ranging from work that needs brute power, to work that requires accuracy. Mimicking complex human movement, it is best to use imaging system as its input. The process of identifying human body position may be achieved by markerless methods, but by positioning a marker will help tremendously to pinpoint the exact location of a specific area on human body correctly. The system in this research is built centered on Visual Basic .NET software, as its interface system between user, device, and applications. Although MATLAB 7.0 application is also used, there is no intervention by users needed, as all procedures are controlled by running Visual Basic application. The application designed has met the goals to capture, process, and display steps of arm movement as close as possible to real-time changes. Further studies may include building the system in 3D environment, connecting this system to an actual robot arm, or various improvements on hardware and software specifications.
