Abstract
The integrity of the data in data transmission is very important since it guarantees the content of the data at the destination point. However, the data often get altered because of noise occurence in the medium of transmission. One of many ways to forestall the content of the data being altered is by using error control code techniques such as Hamming code, parity bit and repetition code. For some people, learning this method might be troublesome, thus what leads to this research for making learning software about those error control code algorithm. This research aims at people who captivated to learn more about error control code, especially Hamming code, parity bit and repetition code. There will be basic theory and simulation concerning the aforementioned error control code. With this learning software tool, not only could people learn more easily and enrich their knowledge, but they could also learn error control code concepts in such interactive software. The evaluation of this learning software has been done and in result it is able to run accordingly. The program was tested with different value of input, and managed to deliver the purpose of its goal, which makes user understand the Hamming code, repetition code and parity bit algorithm. Derived from the survey, user’s knowledge about error control code has increased by 95%. This program can be improved by adding more method of error control code, combining several of them to make a better and impeccable error correcting algorithm, and improving software with animation to make this program more enthralling for user.
