Abstract

Identification of contour function is one of the issues of creative industry who is using cutting machine as the tools. Along with the advancing technology, humans now have a high dependency towards machine. However, those machines we have now do not have the ability to recognize object contour in two dimensional images. In fact, when the machine is used in cutting process, it has to be able to recognize cutting pattern, which is the direction of each pixels that create object contour. The main purpose of this research is creating an application which is able to obtain the contour function of two dimensional images. Contour function creation is started by finding contour points. Afterwards, the program has to find the direction of each contour point by using chain code method. As comparison to the process, sampling process is done to minimalize number of data to be processed. Thus, the information is used to create contour function by using spline interpolation method. The application created in this research has been able to reach its purpose in creating two dimensional contour functions. Both contour function, either using all coordinates or product of sampling, has been able to be created by Error under 1%.
