Abstract

SD XYZ is a private Christian school in Tangerang. As a Christian school, SD XYZ already used a holistic education system which is suitable to the vision and mission of this school. The school needs a great team to achieve the goals of the school especially between teachers and principal. Trust is the most important things that give a great impact toward the team. Trust formed from principal’s servant leadership and communication competence. The aim of the research is to identify teachers’ perspective about principal’s servant leadership and communication competence toward trust at SD XYZ based on the case happened. The study uses a qualitative approach which use questionnaire, observation and interview to gain the data. The questionnaire was given to 21 teachers which also be observed. Ten of them had been interviewed to conformed the data they gave previously. The result has been analyzed using triangulation and showed in description. The result of the research showed that teachers’ see trust was constructed by principal’s servant leadership and communication competence. The writer suggests that the principal should build teachers’ trust by showing her servant leadership and improving her communication competence. / SD XYZ merupakan salah satu sekolah Kristen swasta di daerah Tangerang. Sebagai sebuah sekolah Kristen, sekolah ini telah menerapkan sistem pendidikan yang holistik sesuai dengan visi misi sekolah. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut diperlukan adanya kekompakan dalam tim sekolah terutama antara guru dan kepala sekolah. Trust merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam sebuah tim sehingga tim dapat bekerjasama dengan baik. Trust guru tecipta dari sikap servant leadership yang ditunjukkan kepala sekolah melalui teladan yang diberikan serta kompetensi komunikasi kepala sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengidentifikasi pandangan guru tentang servant leadership dan kompetensi komunikasi kepala sekolah terhadap trust di SD XYZ. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, observasi dan wawancara. Kuesioner disebakan kepada 21 orang guru yang kemudian diobservasi. Sedangkan sepuluh orang diantaranya diwawacarai untuk mengkonfirmasi data. Hasil dari ketiga instrument tersebut kemudian dianalisa menggunakan triangulasi untuk mengkonfirmasi keabsahan data. Hasil dan data yang diperoleh dipaparkan dalam bentuk deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil olahan data menunjukkan bahwa guru memandang servant leadership dan kompetensi komunikas kepala sekolah menciptakan trust guru terhadap kepala sekolah.
