Abstract

Mastering English language is very important because it is the most spoken language in global interaction. In order to master English, early age linguistic education is required. Therefore, the most suitable method used in this research is the Total Physical Responses (TPR), which emphasizes on vocabulary, pronunciation, and motivation to study English. The purposes of this research are: 1) to increase English vocabulary by using the TPR (Total Physical Responses) teaching method in Kindergarten A at Ehipassiko School BSD. 2) to increase English pronunciation by using the TPR (Total Physical Responses) teaching method in Kindergarten A Ehipassiko School BSD 3) to increase motivation to study English by using the TPR (Total Physical Responses) teaching method in Kindergarten A Ehipassiko School BSD. This research was conducted in Kindergarten A Ehipassiko School BSD by the number of participants 18 students, consists of 8 boys and 10 girls. The type of this research is preexperimental research. The results showed an increased vocabulary, pronunciation, and motivation to study English through the method of TPR (Total Physical Responses). It can be seen from the results of the N-Gain, vocabulary 0.755 was in the high category, the pronunciation in the medium category was 0.45 and 0.54 for motivation which is fall into the medium category. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that the teaching of English through the TPR (Total Physical Response) teaching method can increase vocabulary, pronunciation, and motivation to study English. / Menguasai bahasa Inggris sangatlah penting karena bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa yang paling banyak digunakan dalam pergaulan di dunia. Untuk meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa Inggris, diperlukan pendidikan bahasa Inggris sejak dini. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan metode yang sesuai untuk mengajar anak-anak agar dapat menguasai bahasa Inggris dengan baik dan benar. metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Total Physical Response (TPR) yang menekankan pada kosakata, pengucapan kata, dan motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Meningkatkan kosa kata Bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan Metode TPR (Total Physical Response) pada anak kelompok A di TK Ehipassiko School BSD. 2) Meningkatkan pengucapan kata Bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan Metode TPR (Total Physical Response) pada anak kelompok A di TK Ehipassiko School BSD 3) Meningkatkfan motivasi Bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan Metode TPR (Total Physical Response) pada anak kelompok A di TK Ehipassiko School BSD. Penelitian ini dilakukan di TK A Ehipassiko School BSD dengan jumlah peserta didik 18 yang terdiri dari 8 peserta didik laki-laki, 10 peserta didik perempuan. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian pre-eksperimental. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan kosa kata, pengucapan kata, dan motivasi belajar Bahasa Inggris melalui metode TPR (Total Physical Response). Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil N-Gain kosakata 0.755 yang masuk dalam kategori tinggi, pengucapan kata 0.45 yang masuk kategori sedang dan motivasi belajar 0.54 yang masuk dalam kategori sedang . Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris melalui metode TPR (Total Physical Response) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kosa kata, pengucapan kata, dan motivasi belajar Bahasa Inggris peserta didik.
