Bedside handover dengan komunikasi metode SBAR adalah salah satu upaya peningkatan mutu pelayanan keselamatan pasien. Melalui pendekatan bedside handover perawat dapat meningkatkan keselamatan pasien dengan mengobservasi kembali keadaan pasien, mengecek terapi medik pasien dengan menghitung sisa obat-obatan pasien. Mengetahui gambaran pelaksanaan bedside handover menggunakan teknik SBAR di ruang rawat inap rumah sakit swasta di Indonesia Barat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di satu rumah sakit swasta Indonesia Barat pada tanggal 30 Mei – 8 Juli 2018 dengan teknik accidental sampling. Sampel penelitian dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin berjumlah 66 responden, instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi. Pelaksanaan metode bedside handover adalah sesuai (18%), kurang sesuai (68%), tidak sesuai (14%). Komponen komunikasi SBAR adalah situation (36,56%), background (12,54%), assessment (12,81), recommendation (38,08). Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian, disarankan agar mengadakan pelatihan, roleplay pelaksanaan bedside handover dengan teknik komunikasi SBAR = Bedside handover with SBAR method communication is an effort to improving the quality of patient safety services. Through a bedside handover approach the nurse can improve patient safety by re-observing the patient's condition, checking the patient's medical therapy by counting the remaining medicines of the patient. To find out the description of the implementation of bedside handovers using SBAR techniques at the in-patient wards hospital in West Indonesia. This research is quantitative descriptive research. Research conducted at the inpatient wards hospital in Western Indonesia on 30 May – 8 July 2018 with accidental sampling techniques. The sample Slovin formula by using the research amounted to 66 respondents, research instrument using the observation. The results of the implementation of the bedside handover method are appropriate (18%), less suitable (68%), not suitable (14%). SBAR communication component is situation (36,56%), background (12,54%), assessment (12,81), recommendation (38,08). The results of the validity and reliability test with the Pearson Correlation test with a 5% error (p value> 0.361) obtained the effect of bedside handover with SBAR communication techniques. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that training, roleplay the implementation of bedside handover with SBAR communication techniques.
