Abstract

At present, various types of learning media are suggested to students, parents and teachers. These learning media fall into two categorizes, i.e. printed media and electronic media. In the attempts to improve the students’ achievements, especially in the science class, the proper and full-of-fun learning media shall be taken into consideration. And in this study, the researcher’s choice falls to comic as a learning media. The study has proven that comic as a learning media gives positive impacts to the students’ behaviour and motivation in the science class, but has no influence to their achievements. The data is collected through questionnaire on the students behaviour and motivation before and after the class, and is supported with observations and interviews. Then, the data is processed by using SPSS-16 computer programme to learn how comic as a learning media has affected the students’ behaviour, motivation and achievements. The results of the study show that comic as a learning media has a significant influence to the students’ behaviour in the science class. The same results can also be seen in the students’ motivation. However, it shows no influence to the students’ achievements. There is a strong correlation between behaviourmotivation and the students’ achievements. / Pada saat ini banyak sekali media pembelajaran yang ditawarkan kepada para siswa dan guru serta orang tua murid. Media yang ditawarkan beraneka macam.yaitu media cetak maupun media elektronik Dalam kaitannya dengan pelajaran IPA untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar dapat dilakukan dengan memilih media pembelajaran yang tepat dan menyenangkan. Dalam hal ini peneliti memilih komik sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan komik sebagai media pembelajaran membawa pengaruh terhadap sikap dan motivasi siswa dalam belajar IPA, tetapi tidak ada pengaruh terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner tentang sikap dan motivasi sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran serta didukung dengan kegiatan observasi dan wawancara. Data diolah dengan menggunakan program komputer SPSS-16 untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan komik sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap sikap, motivasi, dan prestasi belajar siswa. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dibuktikan bahwa, ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan komik sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap sikap siswa dalam belajar IPA. Ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan komik sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap motivasi siswa dalam belajar IPA. Tidak ada pengaruh dari penerapan komik sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap prestasi siswa dalam belajar IPA. Terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara sikap dan motivasi terhadap prestasi belajar siswa.
