Abstract

Use of personal protective equipment can reduce and prevent transmission of infection as long as nursing care is given to the patient. Therefore the use of PPE becomes an obligation that all inpatient nurses and all hospital-related units have to obey. This research used correlational quantitative with Cross Sectional approach method.Sampling was taken by purposive sampling technique as many 51 nurse respondents. The research instrument consisted of identity questionnaire, education, convenience of using PPE, availability of PPE and observation of compliance. Data processing with Chi-square statistical test. The result of research showed that education factor with the compliance of nurses in using PPE with p value = 0,844, there was no correlation between level of comfort of use of PPE with nurse compliance with p value = 0,716, and no relation availability of PPE with nurses compliance in using PPE with P value = 0.540. The results obtained from this study can be used as material evaluation and references for hospitals related to the comfort and availability of PPE is not adequate. So there should be supervision related to the compliance of nurses in the room in using PPE when performing nursing actions.
