ACFTA is one of many ways that ASEAN takes to make the economic growth of South East Asia grow faster, however, for China, ASEAN is the most promising place for them to broaden their market for selling their local products. Liberalism is the theory that is used to explain and analyze the implementation and the impact of ASEAN-China Free Trade Area for ASEAN countries. In addition to the theory, many concepts under the liberal theory are also used in this research such as international cooperation, international trade, free trade, and positive sum game. This research finds that the implementation of ASEAN-China Free Trade Area has been working well due to the agreement that has been approved by all participants in ACFTA. The agreement becomes legal boundaries to keep ACFTA working on track, as all participants must submit to the agreement. If a dispute happens between participants under the ACFTA agreement, it will be solved based on the Dispute Settlement Mechanism that has been approved by all participants. The reduction or the abolition of every tariff and non tariff trade barrierunder ACFTA has brought many positive impacts due to macroeconomic side of each country. The positive effects that can be felt by ASEAN countries are maximizing their market, obtaining foreign investment, shift of technology between ASEAN and China.
