Abstract

Learning Cycle merupakan suatu model pembelajaran yang berdasarkan pada pandangan konstruktivisme. Model pembelajaran ini memiliki 5 fase sebagai sintaks pembelajarannya yaitu fase pendahuluan (engagement), fase eksplorasi (exploration), fase penjelasan (explanation), fase elaborasi (elaboration) dan fase evaluasi (evaluation). Melalui rangkaian fase tersebut siswa dilibatkan dalarn kegiatan belajar yang aktif melakukan asimilasi, akomodasi, dan organisasi ke dalarn struktur kognitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran model Learning Cycle terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemarnpuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode quasi eksperimen yaitu nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SMA di Tangerang dengan menggunakan instrurnen berupa tes uraian, rubrik observasi dan wawancara. Basil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemarnpuan berpikir kreatif kelompok siswa yang menggunakan metode Learning Cycle menunjukkan kelebihan dibandingkan kelompok siswa yang tidak menggunakan model Learning Cycle. Peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis terjadi tertinggi pada indikator mengkategorikan dan menganalisa. Sedangkan untuk kemarnpuan berpikir kreatif, peningkatan tertinggi terjadi pada indikator berpikir lancar. / Based on constructivism sight, Learning Cycle is a learning model. The learning model has five phases as learning's syntax. They are introduction ( engagement), exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation phase. The students involved into a learning system through this phase series that perform assimilation, accommodations, and organization in cognitive structure. The aim of the study is to recognize the Learning Cycle model fluencies on student's creative thinking thinking ability and critical thinking skill. Quasi - experiment method in this study called nonequivalent control group design. This research occurred on one of senior high schools in Tangerang using descriptive, observation, and interviewing test. The general result of the study showed that creative thinking ability and critical thinking skill on the student's group which using Leaming Cycle method more advance than the other. The highest of critical thinking skill consist on categorical and analytical indicator. Whereas, in creative thinking ability, the highest consist on fluent minded indicator.
