Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana keberhasilan
metode discovery learning dalam pembelajaran apresiasi sastra, khususnya apresiasi
novel.
Yang dijadikan subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa peserta program IB
{International Baccalaureate) Sekolah Pelita Harapan, Lippo Karawaci-Tangerang.
Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisa dokumen
yang diperoleh selama proses pembelajaran, karena selain itu peneliti juga terlibat
dalam kegiatan pembelajaran apresiasi tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan
bahwa pembelajaran apresiasi sastra dengan menggunakan metode discovery
learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis apresiasi sastra siswa.
Berdasarkan hasil analisa dan pembahasan, penelitian ini dapat
diaplikasikan atau disumbangkan sebagai salah satu alternatif metode pembelajaran
apresiasi sastra khususnya apresiasi novel.
