Background: Gastritis is inflammation that occurs in the gastric mucosa which is acute or chronic. Base on WHO, 2012 gastritis ranked sixth in the top ten list of diseases that cause morbidity in the world. Data from a heatlh clinic at Private University in Western Indonesia from October 2019 to February 2020, there were 83 cases of gastritis. Furthermore, researchers conducted a preliminary study on 2017 class year students at one of the Teacher College of Private University in Western Indonesia, found that eight out of ten respondents had a history of gastritis with complaints of pain in the pit of the stomach, abdominal bloating, fullness, nausea, vomiting, and often belch. Aim: To find out the pattern of eating patterns and the risk of gastritis occurrence in students at the Teacher College of Private University in Western Indonesia. Research Methods: This research uses descriptive quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. A simple of 165 students was taken using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used online questionnaires with univariate analysis. Results: respondent's irregular eating patterns as many as 92 (55%) respondent had irregular eating frequency, 94 (57%) respondents had irregular meal times, 100 (60.6%) respondents had irregular food types, and 101 respondents (61.2%) were at risk of developing gastritis. Suggestion: The results of the study are expected to be used to provide education to respondents, families, and community.
