Abstract
Industri manufaktur dan merek perlengkapan olahraga di Indonesia mengalami perkembangan yang signifikan. Jika sebelumnya didominasi oleh merek serta garmen global, Industri Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) kini mulai menunjukan eksistensinya. Hal ini selaras dengan program pemerintah mengenai pemberdayaan UMKM dan penggunaan produk lokal. UMKM perlengkapan olahraga lokal mulai percaya diri untuk memproduksi produk-produk dengan merek sendiri dan bekerja sama dengan tim-tim olahraga profesional. Namun, seiring berjalannya waktu tidak banyak pionir merek-merek perlengkapan olahraga UMKM yang bisa eksis sampai saat ini. Karakter yang kuat, idealisme serta konsistensi dalam menjaga kualitas produk lah yang membuat beberapa merek dapat bertahan sampai saat ini.
Penelitian ini secara mendalam membahas mengenai penerapan teori pengembangan produk dalam industri perlengkapan olahraga UMKM. Penulis melakukan studi kasus pada merek perlengkapan olahraga asal Tangerang, RIORS. Tujuan dari penerapan teori pengembangan produk dalam industri UMKM tidak hanya meningkatan kinerja secara praktikal namun pertumbuhan pola pikir serta kebiasaan dalam perkembangan perusahaan secara jangka panjang./Sports equipment brands and manufacture in Indonesia are run into significant development. If previously dominated by global brands and garments, the Small and Medium Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) industry is now starting to show its existence. This be in accordance with government programs about the empowerment of MSMEs and the use of local products. MSMEs of local sports equipment are starting to be confident to produce products under their own brand and cooperate with professional sports teams. However, over time there are not many pioneers of MSMEs sports equipment brands that can exist until now. Strong character, idealism and consistency in maintaining product quality is what makes some brands can survive until today.
This research in depth discusses the application of product development theory in the MSMEs sports equipment industry. The authors conducted a case study on sports equipment brands from Tangerang, RIORS. The purpose of the application of product development theory in the MSME industry is not only to improve practical performance but to grow mindsets and habits in the long-term development of the company.
