Abstract

Latar belakang : Pandemi COVID-19 ini banyak membawa dampak negatif kepada kedua golongan status sosial, baik mahasiswa dan juga pekerja yang berakibatkan meningkatnya tingkat depresi terhadap kedua belah pihak. Penelitian ini akan melihat manakah yang lebih terpukul karena pandemi COVID-19 ini; apakah mahasiswa dengan tugasnya yang tidak menentu, bahkan sampai di luar jam kuliah pun diberikan tugas yang baru serta masa depan yang tidak pasti ataukah pada golongan pekerja, dimana semua pekerja mengalami ketidakpastian, harus bekerja di rumah, terjadinya pengurangan gaji, bahkan terancam terkena PHK akibat resesi ekonomi. Tujuan penelitian : Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mencari tahu hubungan status sosial (mahasiswa dan pekerja) dengan tingkat depresi; manakah yang lebih depresi antara mahasiswa dibandingkan dengan pekerja selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Metode : Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara cross-sectional (potong lintang) yang dilakukan terhadap 240 responden yaitu mahasiswa dan para pekerja yang tinggal di beberapa kota di Indonesia. Pengambilan data akan dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS). Data akan diolah menggunakan analisis uji Mann-Whitney menggunakan SPSS versi 25.0. Hasil : Pekerja memiliki resiko 8,7 kali lipat terkena depresi dibandingkan dengan mahasiswa (OR: 8,717, p-value 0,000). Kesimpulan : Terdapat hubungan yang positif antara status sosial (mahasiswa dan pekerja) terhadap kejadian depresi akibat dampak pandemi COVID-19. Kata kunci : pandemi COVID-19, mahasiswa, pekerja, depresi, tingkat depresi Referensi: 100 (1999-2021) / Background : This COVID-19 pandemic brings a lot of negative impacts to both social status groups; students and workers, which has resulted in an increased level of depression on both parties. This study will look at which social groups have been hit harder due to this pandemic; students with erratic assignments, given even outside of class hours and the uncertainty future or workers, where they face uncertainty, must work home, reduction of salary and even threaten to be laid off due to economic recession. Aim : The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship of social status (university students and workers) with the level of depression, which is more depressed between students and workers during this COVID-19 pandemic. Method : This study will be done using cross-sectional method given to 240 respondents of students and workers located in several cities in Indonesia. Data collection will be given using Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) questionnaire. Data will be processed using Mann-Whitney analysis using SPSS version 25.0. Results : Workers show 8,7 times more prone to depression than university students (OR: 8,717 ; p-value 0,000) Conclusion : There is a positive effect between social status (university students and workers) with depression during COVID-19 pandemic.
