Background: Learning methods is the most important thing so it is necessary to consider appropriate and effective learning methods or systems. That is for the benefit of the learning and teaching processes. Self-Directed Learning (SDL) learning method is one of the learning methods that often used in the learning process, as well as in the Faculty of Nursing in one of the Banten Province Private Universities. Aim: to find out about the description of student’s perceptions of the methods learning of Self-Directed Learning (SDL). Research Methods: use a quantitative descriptive design approach. Data collection with using a questionnaire that will be tested for validity and reliability. The population of this research were all Nursing Students of the 2018 in one of the Banten Province Private Universities Samples taken with using purposive sampling techniques and obtained 115 students. Results: The description of student’s perceptions of the methods learning of Self-Directed Learning (SDL) show that 62 respondents with positive perception (53.91%) and 53 respondents with negative perception (46.09%). Recommendation: for Faculty of Nursing students further enhance their knowledge, especially about the method of self-directed learning. sSo make this method that can help the learning process and further improve the quality of learning.
