Abstract

Kebudayaan tradisional merupakan sebuah aspek produk kemasyarakatan yang akan selalu memiliki ikatan erat dengan memori kolektif dan hubungan masyarakat dalam upaya mempertahankan eksistensinya. Sedangkan setiap pemikiran manusia membutuhkan memori masa lampau untuk memberikan afirmasi yang dapat memvalidasi pemikiran tersebut. Maka dalam upaya pelestarian kebudayaan tradisional, dibutuhkan sebuah lingkungan yang peduli terhadap eksistensi kebudayaan tradisional untuk dapat membentuk pola pikir masyarakat yang menghargai dan menjunjung tinggi kebudayaan bangsa Omah Wayang Klaten merupakan sebuah sanggar kebudayaan non-profit yang terletak di antara dua kota budaya, yakni Jogja dan Solo. Didirikan oleh keluarga pencipta wayang warta (wayang Kristen), Alm. R Soemijanto Tiknodarsono, sanggar ini memiliki visi untuk terus melestarikan kebudayaan tradisional walaupun dalam kesederhanaan. Sanggar dikelola oleh keluarga sehingga aktivitas sanggar harus terintegrasi dengan rumah tinggal. Omah Wayang Klaten memiliki potensi geografis yang sangat besar untuk dapat menjangkau masyarakat sekitar untuk ikut berpartisipasi yang akan digarap dengan bantuan pendekatan perancangan mixed-used building guna melestarikan kebudayaan tradisional. Selain dari itu, gaya perancangan arsitektur modern juga diaplikasikan sebagai strategi untuk menciptakan relevansi terhadap era globalisasi ini guna menciptakan lingkungan yang dapat menjadi konteks memori kolektif untuk terus menunjang pelestarian kebudayaan tradisional. / Local culture of Indonesian society, specifically traditional art, depends on collective memory and its community relationship to preserve its existence. At the same time, human needs past recollection to validate his / her idea about present reality. Therefore, an environment that cares about the existence of traditional culture is needed to be able to form a public mindset that respects and upholds the importance of conserving to validates future generation’s idea about traditional local culture. Omah Wayang Klaten is a non-profit culture centre and organization, located between two Indonesia’s cultural cities, Jogja and Solo. Founded by the inventor of Wayang Warta (Christian puppet), Alm. R Soemijanto Tiknodarsono, this culture centre vision to conserve traditional local culture, especially traditional art, even with limited resources they had. As a family managed organization, each activity is integrated with family’s houses, so privacy limitation needs to be established. Omah Wayang Klaten has great geographic potentials that may help reach out local communities to participate with the help of mixed-used building concept in order to continue local traditional culture conservation. In addition, modern architecture principle is also implemented as a strategy, creating relevance to the modern and globalization era with the intention to construct an environment develop collective memory context of conserving the existence of traditional culture with the intention of contriving local communities’ collective memory.
