Abstract

Double lumen catheter (CDL) is one of the access that is often used in patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. One of the complications the use of CDL is the onset of infection. There are factors that affect the occurrence of infections include bacterial virulence, immunity of the patient and the procedure of hemodialysis. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the number of occurrence of infections in patients with the installation of a CDL in the hemodialysis siloam hospitals labuan bajo. This research is a retrospective study of the documentation using a descriptive quantitative research designs that highlight the objective phenomena. The population of patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy with the installation of a CDL from January to June 2017 by as much as 33 patients. Research on sample file medical record of patients with diagnosis of CKD stage V undergoing therapy for HD with installation of the CDL from January to June 2017 with a total sample of 33 patients medical record file. Research from derived factors that affect the occurrence of infection in patients with the installation of a double lumen catheter with results: susceptible age 56-65 years (27%), gender; men (58%), patient's immune factors; the status of uremia (100%), the physiological and microbial (76%), bacterial virulence; leukocyte dysfunction (97%), hemodialysis procedure factors; the location of catheter insertion hemodialysis (73%). So, it can be concluded that the factor of bacterial virulence, immunity, and the procedure of hemodialysis means against the incidence of infection in patients with the installation of a double lumen catheter in hemodialysis Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo / Catheter double lumen (CDL) merupakan salah satu akses yang sering digunakan pada pasien yang menjalani terapi hemodialisis.
