Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya fenomena bagaimana kepemimpinan seorang pemimpin merupakan sebuah hal yang krusial yang menentukan bagaimana sebuah perusahaan beroperasi, dan kepemimpinan ini menjadi salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi kinerja tim. Alhasil, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali nilai-nilai kepemimpinan Principal serta perannya dalam membangun kinerja tim desain Monokroma Architect, dengan kinerja tersebut yang akan dilihat dari segi kreativitas dan produktivitas. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan dengan metode pengumpulan data berbasiskan etnografi dan dan metode analisis berbasiskan studi kasus. Setelah terjun langsung dalam firma dan mengumpulkan data, penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan teori mengenai kepemimpinan, kinerja desain melalui design thinking, dan proses desain. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan 12 nilai-nilai kepemimpinan di balik peran Principal dalam mengepalai proses desain dengan basis firma learning-based (pemberian ilmu seluas-luasnya pada karyawan) dan sistem coast to coast yang diterapkan. Dari nilai-nilai yang ditemukan, beberapa nilai di antaranya dikemas dalam satu nilai yang menonjol, yaitu family. Nilai family ini yang memberikan warna pada Monokroma berdampak positif pada individu dan kinerja tim secara keseluruhan dengan Principal yang tidak hanya mengambil peran pemimpin, melainkan juga pendidik hingga ayah yang menunjukkan kepeduliannya terhadap tim desainnya. / This research is motivated by the phenomenon of how the leadership of a leader is a crucial thing that determines how a company operates, and this leadership is one of the factors that influence team performance. As a result, this study aims to explore the values of Monokroma Architect Principal’s leadership and its role in building the performance of its design team, with this performance being seen in terms of creativity and productivity. This qualitative research was conducted using ethnography-based data collection methods and case study-based analysis methods. After working directly in the firm and collecting data, this study was analyzed using theories about leadership, design performance through design thinking, and the design process. The results of this study found 12 leadership values behind the Principal's role in leading the design process based on a ‘learning-based’ firm (providing the widest possible knowledge for employees) and the applied ‘coast to coast’ system. From the values found, some of the values were packaged in one prominent value, family. This family value that gives color to Monochromea has a positive impact on the individual and overall team performance with the Principal not only taking on the role of leader, but also from educator to father who shows concern for the whole design team.
