Background: Smoking behavior in their teens with an age range of 14-19 years, in Indonesia continue to increase and increase. Many factors cause them to smoke at this young age, one of the main causes they start smoking is be influence social environment. Research Objectives: To determine the relationship between the influence of the social environment on smoking behavior in adolescents at the one of Tangerang High Schools. Research Methods: This study uses a correlative quantitative research design, using a cross sectional approach. The caunt ofsamples that participated in this study were 106 respondents of class XI SMA in Tangerang city, using accidental sampling technique. The instrument in the study used an online questionnaire. Data processing by computerization. Analysis of the data used is univariate analysis of smoking behavior among students with a 72,6% result and there is an influence of the social environment with 92,5% results and bivariate analysis with the Chi Square test has a result <0,05 which means there is a related between the effects social environment towards smoking behavior. Result: There is a relationship between the influence of the social environment on smoking behavior with a p-value <0,05 which is 0,001. Recomendation: It is expected that educational institutions are expected to be able to strive for a non-smoking social environment for adolescents and education about the dangers of smoking. It is hoped that further research will be able to conduct further research on factors related to smoking behavior in adolescents at a younger age such as, knowledge factors, psychological factors, and biological factors.
