Abstract

Dalam sebuah Gereja Katolik, Pencahayaan memiliki peran yang penting untuk aktivitas yang ada di gereja. Selain itu, pencahayaan dibutuhkan untuk memberi batasan tiap area ruang ibadah. Untuk menciptakan batasan ruang yang maksimal, maka diperlukan perancangan interior Gereja St. Helena untuk dapat memenuhi kebutuhan kegiatan-kegiatan gereja. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara survei lapangan dan juga cara wawancara. Aspek yang menjadi perhatian bagi penulis adalah teknis dalam suatu ruang seperti material, akustik, pencahayaan, srikulasi, dsb. Keberagaman aktivitas di ruang ibadah ini menjadi pertimbangan untuk pemilihan material, dimana diperlukannya material dan kondisi ruangan yang dapat mengakomodasikan tiap-tiap aktivitas secara maksimal. Gereja Santa Helena yang cukup luas memiliki kekurangan dalam pencahayaannya. Dapat terlihat ketika pengguna mengikuti kegiatan ibadah di Gereja St. Helena Karawaci, pengguna tidak bisa berkosentrasi dengan baik dan juga kesulitan membaca dalam ruang ibadah. Perbedaan pencahayaan di area ibadah juga tidak terlalu signifikan, padahal tiap area yang ada di ruang ibadah mempunyai tingkatan dan makna yang berbeda. Kebutuhan pencahayaan pada ruang ibadah dapat dimaksimalkan dengan pemilihan dan pengolahan pada material. Estetika ruangan juga menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam perancangan. Selain estetik dan teknis, fasilitas gereja yang memadai untuk beragamnya kegiatan di ruang ibadah juga perlu di perhatikan. / In a Catholic Church, lighting has an important role for activities in the church. In addition, lighting is needed to define each area of the prayer room. To create a maximum space limitation, it is necessary to design the interior of the Church of St. Helena to be able to meet the needs of church activities. This data was collected by means of field surveys and interviews. The aspects of concern for writers are technicalities in space such as materials, acoustics, lighting, circulation, etc. The diversity of activities in the prayer room becomes a consideration in selecting materials, whereas the materials and room conditions need to be balanced to accommodate each activity effectively. The church of Santa Helena, which is quite large, lacks lighting. It is noticeable during users participation in worship activities at the Church of St. Helena Karawaci, the user cannot concentrate well and also has difficulty reading in the prayer room. The difference in lighting in the worship area is also not very significant, even though each area in the prayer room has different levels and meanings. The need for lighting in the prayer room can be maximized by selecting and processing the material. Room aesthetics are also an important factor in the design. Apart from being aesthetic and technical, adequate church facilities for various activities in the worship room also need attention.
