Abstract
Banking takes a big control in monetary system in Indonesia, which is one of the most important for Indonesia’s economy. There are many types of bank which has different function, ownership, status, operational, and organization. The most popular customer used to deposit money in Indonesia is basically to comparing which bank is better based on bank operational system. Different in bank operational system is included Sharia Bank and Conventional Bank. Different in operational bank system have different in the performance both financial and managerial.This research intended to compare Sharia Bank and Conventional bank based on financial performance from 2013 until 2017 of top 3 famous conventional banks in Indonesia which also have Sharia branches. This research is qualitative descriptive research by using secondary data and documentation method. By using Liquidity ratio, Profitability ratio, and Solvency ratio as variables which is basic requirement in compare performance of banking system. The result of this research is there are differences between Sharia bank and Conventional bank which compare in general; Conventional bank has better financial performance than Sharia bank.
