Abstract

Background: The health care team is a group of professionals who have clearly defined rules for each profession, different goals and expertise. Health needs that are not met properly will be influenced by the background of health workers and the Interprofessional Education (IPE) system in the world. IPE is a necessary step in preparing better health workers. Research Objectives: To determine UPH nursing students' perceptions and readiness about IPE. Research Methods: This study uses quantitative research and uses quantitative descriptive research designs. Determination of the number of samples in this study refers to the Isaac table with a level of 5%, so we used a sample of 167 people to look for data on the perceptions and readiness of Nursing students in the year 2018. Results: the majority of students' perceptions were in the good category of 161 people (96.4 %), then 4 people (2.4%) had moderate perception, and there were 2 students (1.2%) who had a bad perception of IPE. The results of the majority readiness study entered into a state of doubt that is 152 people (91.0%) and as many as 9 people (5.4%) had readiness and there were 6 students (3.6%) who were not ready for the implementation of the IPE. Recommendations: Suggestions for further researchers to be able to conduct more in-depth research, for example about the effectiveness of the implementation of the IPE program in learning and when carrying out practices in hospitals.
