Abstract

This research aims to determine if motivation has an effect on employee performance. It is also hoped to be useful for other companies and scholars doing researches related to the title. Since human resource is one of the most important aspects in a company, it is crucial that they are well-performing to ensure a company’s continuous improvement. One of the ways to do so is by learning more about what motivates them the most.The research uses quantitative approach and utilizes the 24th version of SPSS.The tests include validity, reliability, descriptive, normality and linearity test, also coefficient of correlation and determination, linear regression analysis and z-test. From those tests, it can be concluded that there is an effect of motivation towards the employee performance. It is also proven that there is a relation between those variables, and that the linear relationship between motivation and employee performance at Lesssalt in Medan has a normal strength.To conclude, motivation does have an effect on employee performance at Lesssalt in Medan. The writer hopes that the research can be well-implied and that the recommendations given are beneficial.
