Abstract
Hospitalization is a condition that requires a person to get treatment in the hospital. Hospitalization also is a traumatizing and distressing experience to both parents and preschool. They will become afraid of the environment and the medic treatment. Nurses with interpersonal communication skill have to build trust relationship to facilitate positive change and positive development. The general aim of this research was to analyze relationship between therapeutic communication with anxiety in preschool during the hospitalization in Moriah ward at Siloam Hospital Kebon Jeruk. Based on observations in the Moriah Ward at Siloam Hospital Kebon Jeruk children tend to show fear and avoid when nurses or doctors approached them, they become afraid and anxious if it will be hurt. In addition, even the nurse have already use communication therapeutic, there are some of them are still avoided, anxious and did not want to be approached by the nurse. This research was design as an quantitative correlation with cross sectional approach. Total sampling technique was used and the total of sample are 27 respondents based on inclusion and exclusion that have been established. Data collection by using questionnaires that have been tested for reliability and validity. The data analysis used the Spearman-rank correlation test / Hospitalisasi merupakan suatu keadaan yang mengharuskan seseorang mendapatkan perawatan di rumah sakit. Sehingga hospitalisasi menjadi faktor kecemasan bagi anak. Hal ini tidak sejalan dengan tujuan dilakukannya hospitalisasi yaitu untuk memperoleh kesembuhan. Komunikasi terapeutik sebagai salah satu asuhan untuk mencegah trauma dapat digunakan untuk meminimalisasikan kecemasan anak. Perawat menggunakan komunikasi terapeutik untuk membangun iklim yang kondusif, membawa perubahan kearah yang positif bagi anak, memeberikan rasa nyaman kepada anak, meningkatkan rasa percaya anak terhadap perawat sehingga perawat dapat memberikan tindakan keperawatan dengan baik dan dapat mempercepat proses penyembuhan anak. Berdasarkan observasi yang didapatkan di Ruang Moriah SHKJ anak cenderung menunjukan rasa takut dan menghindar saat perawat atau dokter mendekatinya, mereka menjadi takut dan cemas jika akan disakiti. Selain itu walaupun sudah dilakukan komunikasi terapeutik pada anak, ada beberapa dari mereka masih saja menghindar, cemas dan tidak mau didekati oleh perawat. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah kuantitatif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah total sampling. Jumlah yang telah ditetapkan peneliti yaitu 29 orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner yang sudah diuji reliabilitas dan validitasnya. Uji analisis hasil menggunakan tes korelasi Spearman-rank.
