Abstract

Background: Communication with SBAR method is usually applied by nurses in the handover of patients during shift turnover, but awareness on the communication process is weak. Most nurses still do not carry out the handover using SBAR communication, so there is often clear less and precise information about the patient being treated. Objective: To know the description of SBAR communication by the nurses at the Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. Method: This research used quantitative-descriptive method, sampling with convenience sampling technique, 43 samples of nurse in Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk, univariate data analysis. Result: In the implementation of SBAR communication, (97.6%) nurses perform situation components in SBAR communication, (67,4%) nurses did background component, (72,1%) nurses perform assessment component and (90,7%) recommendation. Recommendation: Through this research, it is hoped that the next researcher can do research with more respondent, so it can represent bigger population and can develop research about SBAR communication in handover of patient / Latar belakang: Komunikasi dengan metode SBAR biasanya diterapkan oleh perawat dalam pelaksanaan serah terima pasien saat pergantian shift, namun kesadaran terhadap proses komunikasi ini masih kurang. Kebanyakan perawat masih belum melaksanakan serah terima dengan menggunakan komunikasi SBAR, maka sering terdapat informasi yang kurang jelas dan tepat mengenai pasien yang dirawat. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui gambaran pelaksanaan komunikasi SBAR oleh perawat di ruang rawat inap Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif, pengambilan sampel dengan teknik convenience sampling, jumlah sampel 43 perawat rawat inap Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk, analisa data menggunakan analisa data univariat. Hasil: Dalam pelaksanaan komunikasi SBAR, (93%) perawat melakukan komponen situation dalam komunikasi SBAR, (48,8%) perawat melakukan komponen background, (76,7%) perawat melakukan komponen assessment dan (93%) perawat melakukan komponen recommendation. Rekomendasi: Melalui penelitian ini diharapkan peneliti selanjutnya dapat melakukan penelitian dengan jumlah responden yang lebih banyak, sehingga dapat mewakili populasi yang lebih besar dan dapat mengembangkan penelitian mengenai gambaran komunikasi SBAR dalam serah terima pasien antar shift.
