Abstract

The deterioration of patient is very common in hospital. If it is wrong to recognize and respond appropriately, it will increase the patient’s morbidity rate and increase of adverse event (AE). Early Warning Score (EWS) is used as means of detecting worsening conditions in adult patients with seven parameters. The purpose of this literature review is to analyze the effectiveness of EWS as early detection of patient deterioration by nurse. The method used is literature review on quantitative and qualitative research articles. The process of data analysis using thematic analysis method: a simplified approach by creating themes on critical review of the article. Result: EWS and ORC effective as a patient deterioration early detection by nursing. Suggestion this literature review is EWS or ORC used as an assessment tool in detecting patient deterioration in hospital / Perburukan kondisi pasien di rumah sakit sangat sering terjadi di rumah sakit, jika salah dalam mengenali dan memberikan respon yang tepat akan meningkatkan angka morbiditas pasien dan meningkatkan resiko kejadian yang tidak diharapkan (KTD). Early warning score (EWS) digunakan sebagai alat mendeteksi perburukan kondisi pada pasien dewasa dengan tujuh parameter. Tujuan kajian literatur ini untuk menganalisa keefektifan EWS sebagai deteksi dini perburukan kondisi pasien oleh perawat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu melakukan literature review pada artikel penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Proses analisa data menggunakan metode thematic analysis : a simplified approach dengan cara membuat tema-tema pada hasil telaah kritis artikel. Hasil penelitian: EWS dan ORC efektif sebagai deteksi dini perburukan pasien oleh perawat. Saran kajian literatur ini yaitu, EWS ataupun ORC dipakai sebagai alat penilaian dalam mendeteksi perburukan pada pasien di rumah sakit.
