Abstract
High alert medication is a drug that has the highest risk of causing harm when it is wrong in giving it. A safe and accurate medication administration is the most important duty for nurses. Therefore, an adequate knowledge is needed in order to avoid error in giving medication, especially high alert medication. According to the results of Quality and Risk audit of Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo in 2016, the average storage of high alert medication and safe concentrate electrolyte consumption is around 87,1%. The purpose of this research is to describe nurses’ level of knowledge of high alert medication management. The method used is descriptive quantitative with cross sectional approach. Sampling in the study using random sampling technique with the of 18 nurses in inpatient department Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo. This study use a questionnaire instrument that refers to SOP (Standard Operational Procedures) of high alert medication management. The research conducted in November-December 2017. The result shows that the knowledge level of high drug management to the nurse in SHLB is high with 16 people in total (88.9%), so it is expected that the hospitals can do training on high alert medication so the nurse can develop the knowledge and adhere to high alert medication management / Obat high alert merupakan obat-obatan yang memiliki resiko paling tinggi menyebabkan bahaya ketika salah dalam pemberiannya. Pemberian obat yang aman dan akurat merupakan tugas terpenting bagi perawat, untuk itu dibutuhkan pengetahuan yang memadai agar tidak terjadi kesalahan dalam pemberian obatobatan khususnya obat high alert. Menurut hasil audit Quality and Risk Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo (SHLB) tahun 2016 didapatkan rata-rata penyimpanan high alert medication dan penggunaan elektrolit konsentrat yang aman sekitar 87,1%. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan tentang manajemen obat high alert kepada perawat di ruang rawat inap SHLB. Metode yang digunakan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian menggunakan teknik random sampling, populasi yang dipakai berjumlah 18 orang perawat ruang rawat inap Siloam Hospitals Labuan Bajo. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrument berupa kuesioner yang merujuk pada SOP manajemen obat high alert. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan November – Desember 2017. Hasil menunjukkan gambaran tingkat pengetahuan tentang manajemen obat high alert kepada perawat di ruang rawat inap SHLB adalah tinggi berjumlah 16 orang (88.9%), sehingga diharapkan rumah sakit dapat melakukan pelatihan tentang obat high alert agar perawat dapat mengembangkan pengetahuan dan patuh dalam manajemen obat high alert.
