Abstract

Background: Immunization is an important component of global efforts useful for reducing illness and child mortality. Based on the results of interviews conducted by residents of Kelapa Dua traumatized by fake immunization, fear of the incidence of infants dying from immunization, distrust of immunization and do not know the benefits of immunization. Objective: To find out the description of knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of parents towards toddlers immunization in the Kelapa Dua area of Tangerang. Research Methods: Researchers used descriptive quantitative research methods with a positivism approach. The study population in the Kelapa Dua Region, Tangerang there are 224 parents with the criteria of parents who have children under five (under five years). The sampling technique is simple random sampling of 148 respondents. The research instrument used a knowledge questionnaire developed by Harlimton (2017) containing nine valid questions and 0.732 reliability, an attitude questionnaire developed by Sari (2018) containing 14 valid and reliability questions of 0.748, and a perception questionnaire developed by Hemadiyan (2017) with 15 valid question items and reliability 0.776. The data analysis technique used is univariate analysis using descriptive analysis test. Results: This study showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge of immunization by 121 respondents (81.8%), the majority of respondents had a positive attitude towards immunization by 82 respondents (55.4%) and the majority of respondents had positive perceptions of immunization as much as 78 respondents (52.7%). Recommendation: For further research, it is expected to conduct research on parental behavior towards completeness of immunization for toddler.
